5 Annoying Things About Croke Park

A list of annoying things about going to and being in Croke Park.

1) The journey. Obviously this doesn’t apply to everyone but for people who have to spend hours in a bus/car to get to Croker – I feel for you, I really do. In fact, I’m one of those people. Your legs get strangely stiff and you suddenly find yourself laughing hysterically when you see drunk men relieving themselves at the side of the road.

2) The food. I don’t know about you but every time I stop for breakfast while going to Croke Park I get very annoyed. Here’s why: you get 1 sausage, a piece of black pudding, and a strip of bacon which is hard as rock and made up of about 85% fat. Then when you take a drink from your cup of tea to try and wash down the burnt pig you scald your mouth and to round things off nicely the breakfast costs about €24.

3) The idiots. Maybe I’m acting like a complete snob here but frankly, I couldn’t give a damn. One of the worst things about watching football match is when you have to do it while sitting beside a person who knows absolutely nothing about football and shouts random things which make little sense and then you have to stop yourself from screaming in their face.

4) Bloody foreigners. “I’m here visiting IRELAND and I want to see a GAYLIG game”. Oh, yes, those lovely foreigners. It’s not the accent that annoys me, oh no. It’s those annoying people who walk into the stadium 30 minutes into the game and then block your view for about 5 minutes while a steward tries to explain to them where their seats are.

5) Angry people. We all get frustrated sometimes. It’s even happened to myself but thats no reason to throw your lovely cowboy hat at someone. While I was enjoying ‘the game’, a delightful opposing fan decided that he had seen enough and before leaving the stadium he decided to throw his stupid, ugly, annoying cowboy hat at me. I hate those things with a passion.

If you have another annoying things to add to the list, please leave a comment in the comments section.

Pat Kenny

It’s funny because it’s true. A spoof of Pat Kenny made back in 2002. If you haven’t seen it, you should watch it.

Best And Worst Irish Accents

A pretty decent list of the best and worst Irish accents can be found here. Why Tom Cruise’s accent in ‘Far and Away’ has not been included I don’t know but what I do know is that it has to be the worst Irish accent ever. Ever! And there have been some pretty bad ones.

This and That

I really do hate these first posts. Blog openers or whatever you call them. It’s just incredibly awkard, sitting here typing and pretending that someone gives a damn that yet another weblog has been made.

Anyway, I’d better give this a go. Lockr is my personal weblog which I will be using (hopefully) to post stuff that interests me. Yes, stuff! Stuff may include links, videos, notes, thoughts and anything else that comes to mind while I’m typing.

The name Lockr has absolutely no meaning – the reason I chose it, however, is because it’s the only damn name I could think of that wasn’t already being used on WordPress. Personally, I think it has a lovely web 2.0 ring to it!

This isn’t my first blog – oh no! I’ve had several before this but I’ve either stopped updating them, deleted them or just sold them. I know a thing or two and a thing or two. The thing or two which I know a thing or two about is xHTML and CSS. Confused yet? I am.

Seeing as we’re both confused, I’d better move on and talk about something else. Hmmm – I can’t think of anything to say so I suppose this would be a good time to say: come back and check later for another [fantastic] post.

About author

I'm Irish. I like to drink [tea]. I hate bad weather. I would like to think I'm better at public speaking then Bertie Ahern.
